You mean they didn't use those black cardboard boxes with the 1990's logo on it back in the 1937's? I feel so cheated!

I still have 40+ original Nam lighters most of them I got back in the 70's from friends of the family and former students of my grandmother.I got stung once with a fake but learned real fast how to spot them so that has not happened to me in a long time.bbd

no i got it Flea, I was just going along with the joke.
And that Vietnam factory thing was an inside joke with arthurdent. Someone at ZC posted a fake with Vietnam stamped on the bottom, and people thought it might be real, so I said I might bid on it because I wanted an original Vietnam factory Zippo and then arthurdent went on a rant describing the "false" history of the "not real" Vietnam factory and it took Robin to set it straight and say we were kidding around.
it's not funny unless you were there.
(while I'm off on a rant) - it's very dead over there at ZC...wonder why? hehe

Ya, well don't let the rust on the case fool ya. The Vietnam factory used an aluminum alloy. They combined aluminum and scrap steel from bomb fragments. McNamara had a controlling interest in the factory. The man made a mint. ATBGO
