I need one. And I'm willing to anything for one......ANYTHING! Now you pervs, get your mind out of the gutter, I'm married, plus i don't swing that way. (Not implying that you do.) Anyways if you all can dig though your junk boxes, if y'all got one, and see if you have a zippo/insert or insert with the hump Cam Spring. I would prefer a insert that is bashed, I don't really want to ruin a good insert. I'm willing to pay cash or trade (chance to get a shorty zippo here or ziplights).... Please look, I'm restoring my '43 insert and i need a hump. Spanish Flea

LOL, Ace.
I am restoring a '43-'45 insert. And would like it to be a correct restoration. I am taking pix of the process.
Kudus to BigDaddyBlue, he hooked me up with a insert.
Thanks.

Well ,sorry to say that after an hour in the attic all I found were very beat up inserts that I had already scraped parts from.I'll look more but it does not look good for the cam springs.I did find a few flint wheels but no old ones and to be honest I am not even sure if they are Zippo wheels or something else I saved just incase.Any chance of trying to make one?The only other person I can think of who might just have one would be Linda.BBD

btw, what is a hump spring. btw, SF, you should write a guide telling how to remove different parts of the zippo. Cam and flint wheel you'd drill out rivets, but how do you get the plate out

Cam and flint wheel you'd drill out rivets, but how do you get the plate out I use hammers to get my parts off. J/K. I drill out the rivits, it's all very easy. The plate can come out. It takes a bit of work, but it can be done. I've poped a few out. But the ones that are sodered in are a bit tougher. You need to heat up the lead first. As for what a Hump Spring is, I'll post pix of it when it comes in. BBD, what did she find out???Spanish Flea

The company name is M'BELLISH.They have small eyelets but I am unsure of the sizes avalible. They also have a setting tool that can be used to set the small eyelets. She has a few boxes of them and the ones she has are to short for using to repair but like I said the setting tool shows a lot of promis.I will get a photo of it tonight and post it.It is almost identical to what I made for myself to use buy it is made a lot nicer then my home made tool.bbd

It would be better off to drill a hole. The punch will bend up the metal pretty good. I would guess the hole punch is for leather or paper. Spanish Flea
