I just wanted to start a thread dealing with all the other zippo items. I am at the point where I think I have most of the ones I want. The regulars tape measures, magnifier, pill box pocket knives etc. One of the strangest ones I have is a zippo "Utility Line" I was surprised that I had overlooked it but its in Poore's book - page 175, if you happen to have the book in your hands, lol. I actually came to own a second one recently but I am not sure I need two...anyone interested in it?

Dirk you are 100%correct about the first run MPL's.No date codes and from what I heard the first were only done in black.I don't know how true that is but it does sound likely. The other thing I heard is only select dealers got the first ones. That sounds likely also as they would want to make sure there was some demand before making a big offering of them.At first I really liked them but,to me it seems as if they do not hold up as well as I would have expected.I sold a case or two of them and out of those about half have had troubles. Before anyone says they did a re-call I know about that and these did not fit the date range and Zippo declined to add those dates to the re-call.Might just be a bad batch or just a new item with bugs but it did not seem like they would hold up.
Is there anyone who uses one on a regular basis? If so how 'bout telling us what you think of them. Jeff

I bought like 5 or 6 of them at once I ordered them through smoky mountain knife works they seem to have great pricing but only one was from the first year and only seem to have small problems with lighting them every once in awhile!

Funny thing about the ones I sold that did not seem to be right. They would not add them to the re-call but, they did send me enough pre-paid boxes to ship them back to be fixed. After they did that it seemed odd they did not add them to the re-call.jeff
