I was watching it takes a thief on the discovery channel and this inspired my question
what do yall do (if anything) to protect your collection from thieves or damage from fire, acts of god, or kids

The wife keeps telling me to get my collection insured but,That means I have to get it all sorted out and catalog all of them.Man thats going to be tooo much work. The only thing I do to protect my collection is keep my gun aimed at the cases. That way if someone sticks their fingers on them I just have to pull the trigger.bbd

well guys I've been there and asked about it! don't know where your all from! "hopefully your momma" but here in the states they require your collection be appraised! its hard to get some one to do that and the fact that you aquire so many at different times! so I thought of just tossing them out!

i think you might beable to add it to your homeowners/renters insurance if you got pictures and description
on the show it said most thieves grab what they can, so if a case is bolted to the wall w/locks then they might leave it and move on to something else

You cant insure what is impossible to replace. I have talked about emergency procedures before that basiclly means putting them in sealed containers so they are portable.
