[rant] I just got in the mail today, (i haven't picked up mail in a few days) but i got a envelope from zippo. Selling one of there collectors zippos. It's the one of the office building. Comes in a nice box with, what i think is a pin. and a book of some sort. I thought this is cool. Turned the page over and saw the price....................$80!!!! are you shitting me. [/rant]
I got to get a better job so i can afford these zippos from click.

Personally I think they have a wrong strategy.
They are offering more and more expencive lighters to get some cash from the club members. In the result of that les and les people buying them and they dont have as much $ as they would like to have. So they are offering another one even more expencive. AND AROUND THIS CIRCLE.
In the mean time we don't have any news about new everyday lighter, and this is the one that a lot of members will buy (I believe).
Another think is that a lot of "collectible" click lighters are ordering by ebay sellers and they are lunched on ebay few days later with a dooble price.
Just my opinion

is that a pin, i thought it was just a piece of the building cut into the flame shape.
the lighter looked cool but i dont like the packaging, the booklet that comes with it looks like something you would hang off your belt.
we will have to wait for the saints opinion, he has a good eye for collectables, i dont want to see this thing end up being worth $1000+ ten years from now

the $80 is about the same price as you would pay for a standard zippo from the shops over here, maybe a bit more.

ouch freddy, that smarts! I heard that they were steep there. Well, after the high shipping cost and exchange it'll top a hundred for sure but I'm still very tempted to get it...

Yeah I can't decide myself on that "collectible"
That's a lot of money and what are you really getting? It is an armor lighter, and that piece of the building, but it probably isn't from the original tiles, just a reproduction.
I just don't get the limited production thing. Last year's collectible (the Venetian) at least had the caveat that you had to order them because they were only producing the ordered ones. Now they just say limited quantities? What does that mean?
And when it comes to these questions, you can never NEVER get a straight answer from Zippo!

OBVIOUSLY, you haven't asked Kathy yet. I'm SURE she will give you a direct/correct answer within a matter of 24 hours!

I think it all goes back to collect what you like. Of course if you are focusing on an investment I say go for it. There are a lot of other zippos that I rather find close to $100 to get though. If I only ever bought what the club puts out I could afford these things. The club is making about $200,000 a year just off of memberships. The catalogues are advertising..where is the exclusive lighters? Obviously priced beyond almost everyone. You would think that straight from the factory would be cheaper?

As much as I hate to say it,I am glad for my time at click.I did hook up with a lot of great people that I might not have gotten to know if it was not for that site.I also must admit , I miss spending time in those forums. Most of the info is worth while even if many of the people are not.I just wish they had run it like they had promised us when we joined. It never did work out like they told us it would.I still have hope it will change and still have a couple of years on the books to wait and see if it does'If it does not at least we still have the lounge and good people here to talk to.jeff
