Not sure if it'll come back with a new insert as the old one wasn't at fault (I tried it with multiple inserts), I'm guessing the case took a nasty knock at some point and was damaged just enough to cause unpleasant operation, but didn't leave any visible evidence. You're welcome to the spare though if I get one; I'll have no use for it.

Got 10 now, plus a Hadson and a cheap look-a-like. Almost got my first fake on Sunday, but none of the designs interested me. Funny that actually; I knew they where fake before I even picked one up, but the first thing the guy said to me was "they're all Zippo...." I just laughed and walked away.

i got 26 lighters in the post yesterday inc a 37 to 39,4 excellent t and c ships lighters,3 prototypes,1 naval barcroft,loads of mib uss navy zippos,a kerry lighter plus some lucky ones.nice one jeff.

i need to get my new zippo photo tent out and give it a whirl.i have loads of photos i need to take and display.so busy with work at the moment its hard to fit everything in.i will try get around to it shortly.

Ed - thumbs up big time on stopfakezippos - was talking with Steve (he was Zippo's photographer for 7 years) today & it took him 3 years to develop the technique - in 2004 he took this pic of a 10 piece set I did, I tried everything to get a 1/2 decent photo of it without success - the first pic is one I took & the 2nd Steve's - spot the difference!

what a difference,they don't look like the same set of lighters at first glance.i would cream my knicks if i could get mine looking like either of those photos.I'm still on a blur.going to get another light and set my tent up on Wednesday.if you don't see any photos on Wednesday,it hasn't worked and I'm in the pub sulking!

Steve's pic definetely shows the lighters better although you can read the text better in yours, Paul! Nice pics, both of them!

Zippo also Digimarks their images (dont know if the book tells you that), the images used in online catalogs are all digtally watermarked, one of the ladies from zippo said they were able to shutdown some counterfet zippo sites in China that were using their images.

in theory some digmarks can survive even printing and scanning.
