looking for a special lighter

hello maybe sombody over here kan help me with this
its about the very first lighter i owned .
so here goes
long time ago when i was young my uncle gave me a zippo with the battleship zinnia on it it belonged to his best friend who left for the golf war on the ship zinnia
now this ligter i alwas kept on me my name was engraved on the back in nice letters .
the problem is i left it in aa pub on my packedge of marlboro while playing some pool and somebody stole it
maybe someone over her has it or even wants to sell it
it would mean a lot to me to find this lighter back even if its just one with the ship .
to all ou navy collectors and other can you maybe help me .

Alain,I am very sorry to hear about your loss .Bar's,Pub's and clubs are a bad place to leave a Zippo laying around.I just can't part with mine no matter how drunk I get.It always stays in my pocket.It sucks people would steal them but it's just how things are.I do not have many ship lighters for non-US ship's but I have people offer them to me all the time.I will be sure to put it on my list of lighters to find and you will be the first to know if I can find one.Jeff aka bigbaddad

oldno7,sorry but no luck yet.I did a search of ebay and have not seen any listed now or in the past several months as far back as they let you check.On ebay I posted the lighter in the items looking for and have not heard anything that way either.I have been in contact with a few of my fellow Navy Zippo collectors and no one has one or has ever even seen one from the BNS Zinnia.I am not giving up hope but just wanted to let you know how it is going in the search for the lighter.Jeff aka bigbaddad

I have to admit this is going to be a hard ship to find.Normally I do not have much trouble finding US Navy ship's.I have to be honest I do not know if we will get one but, hunting them is half the fun.It took me 3 years to find a US Airforce lighter from a command a friend was at in the late 1950's but we did finally get it.Lets just hope this one will not take as long.Jeff aka bigbaddad

wow 3years thats a big search
think i am gonna call the belgian navy to see if they can give me some information about people who where on the ship in the gulf war see if maybe i can contact one of the marines
