So for all who don't know, Fetus just informed me that LighterTricks.com is coming back. Morten appears to be re-opening it after closing it for an unknown reason. For anyone who wants to check it out, it's www.lightertricks.com still. I wonder why he's reviving the old site... Hunter007 |

Hey all. Like Hunter said LT is coming back. I completely forgot to make a post myself... so thanks Hunter.
I spoke with Morten and here are a couple answers.
"Yeah, the old LT disappeared more or less over night. It was a combination really of several things that led to its downfall. You are right about those bandwidth bills - no fun what so ever. That said, I could cope. The true pain with the site was the constant hacker attacks on the site. LT went down once per week in average due to these attacks. The last one caused so much harm getting it back would be a tremendous undertaking. Also, the structure of the site and total lack of dynamic content resulted in a site almost impossible to run. It made me sick basically and for the last year the whole thing was just one big problem. I didn't know where to start so I didn't...... A few months after shutting it down I got the itch. It would be a shame to close it down after 10 years. Now I'm totally revitalized and eager to get the site back up. I have tried to learn from my mistakes so the new site will be different."
I know most of you are collectors so this isn't as big news for you as it is for us trickers and old LT folk, but spread the word if you can.

So, LT is officially back up...no message boards as far as I can see and you have to re-register. If anyone finds out more, keep us posted.

i decided to go check out the site and to my surprise it was open. isnt complete yet but yay none the less!

Yeeeah  I really like the new layout. It's going to be different for sure, but I am suitably impressed. I've stayed in contact with Morten and he will be putting up forums in the near future. Cheers. |

yeah, it's great! well, once more members start coming to the site...all the old members--the ones that signed up before 2006...your accounts are still there and active. for everyone who signed up in 2006...well, you'll just have to sign up again lol.
