D.Poore book

OK, I know I have not been around much but, the sun has been shining and the grass has been growing and the honey-do list had to be done.Just to show you guys I have been thinking of ya I might have us a hook up at the swap.I know how hard it is to find the D.Poore book so I talked with David and he is going to try and bring about 10 copies of his book to the swap. I did not ask about the price but it has to be cheaper then getting one at the Zippo store.I will be hooking up with him on the 19th to make a run to St.Marys in search of a Zippo I found out about at the last international swap.I will know than if he was able to get them.He will also be hanging around with us a little at the Desoto.I figured some of you would like the chance to meet him and pick his brain a bit.Jeff

good luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I mean that with all my heart! he knows less than linda!!!!!!!!!!!! I showed him a lighter and he didn't know what it was or care!!!!!!!!!!! I took it around till I found a old timer who told me it was a nickel steel zippo with a 5 barrel! original!!!!!!! and davied and his buddy's had no clue or care also linda had no idea what it was! I hate to be so negative but he isn't a god and what hes has printed some one else told him and he has no care of the meaning !!! just sell the book and forget the rest! he has the money to find the knowledge and thats it!!!

when I first met him several years ago I asked if any one could appraise my collection so I could insure it! I brought it down the next day and he looked and said nice start kid gl!! tell me that wouldnt piss you off! I had a couple hundred! some his friends wanted but wouldnt pay the price they were worth so they told me!

well dirk,i can quite honestly say everyone who spoke about david (apart from jeff who likes his hair)did not have a single nice world to say about him.i think i would have had a meltdown if he had done to me what he did to you.i have his book(even read it too) which was given as a gift and signed by a better person so im happy.ive never met the guy but already have no respect for him which is unusual for me as i tend not to listen to stories but take people on face value.there were just so many bad stories.

I must admit I was wrong about him.He has never pulled anything like that on me but he does seem to do that to a lot of others.I was a bit surprised he blew me off on hooking up .I think he was more interested in finding the lighter I told him about on his own.There was even an ad in the local papers that seemed directed at the guy who owns the lighter I told him about.Well shit I think that means he has pulled some stupid shit on me after all.Oh well live and learn I guess. lol thats ok!paul dragged him over at the meet and made me show him one of the lighters I have with zippo printed on the flint wheel! I did show him not that I wanted to but any how I did ! he said " hmm they must all have that" and started to walk away! we told him no they don't and he said well I must put that in my next book!" lol not mine! with out a great price! that conceded prick!

Well, I never had a chance to meet him although I did see him prowling the meet and was not impressed with his demeanour - he strikes me as one not to be trusted. Further, I've heard stories about how he aquired most of his older lighters from Bradford residents, paying a fraction of their worth.
It's still a good book but...
