do yall do real cranberry sauce or the gelled white trash version that comes in a can. Matt, I can't remember the last time we had that dreadful stuff! Always the real thing of course and similar to that recipe...now I heard that a squirt or so of lemon juice enhances it nicely as well.

they might now, with all this talk about the chicken flu and everything.
i get my turkeys from the south (US), good ol Pilgrams Pride, my brother in law works for Pilgrams and they give him a free turkey every year
found out why Thanksgiving (USA) falls on a thursday, because they designated it the fourth thursday of November.

To all those that know me...you know that food is a passion of mine. While I'm a pretty dern good cook, I have given up the hours of thawing, roasting, basting, etc. I have found absolute HEAVEN...it's just heat and eat........and Oh MY GOD is it good!!! www.cajungrocer.com/product_info.php?cPath=&products_id=109Or just run out to your local Popeye's Spicy Chicken Restaurant! Don't forget the red beans and rice, corn on the cob, biscuits, and of course that yummy oyster stuffing they have too!!! I know I sound like a commercial for Popeye's...but if you've been to one...you KNOW WHAT I MEAN!!!

Well Ace,being a direct decendent of the original 189 or so people that were at the first Thanksgiving I can honestly say we did not beat up the indians for Thanksgiving.Fact is if it were not for the Indians those first years we, as white Europians would not have made it. Happy Thanksgiving to all!!Make sure your Turkeys do not come from Canada as thay have found many infested with that bird flu and thay are doing a re-call on many brands of bird from the north.bbd

I think ol'Bob suffers from English envy. Those long winters and short summers must be taking a toll on him.As for Turkey I did not know they ate Turkey up there.I just figured they roasted those damn black gnats that grow as big as a turkey.bbd

you guys just crack me up! Well it seems that yes I did post that Brits don't understand cranberry and it came from an expat I know here. At any rate I made the incorrect statement that implied that ALL Brits feel this way and for that I am truly sorry... hehehehe.... If you were any closer Jeff I'd invite myself over for Thanksgiving and let you know who does it better! As for Jules...I see no hope in sight...

Well Bob I would be more then happy to have you but,I got trapped into an in-law thing so I will not even be here.Normally I would be at my local Disabled American Vets helping out with their big meal for all that want to come. But,alas the in-law thing is a go and I am stuck. Not too bad however all I have to do is bake a few pecan pies and I am done.bbd
