Your pix are a bit to small for me to get an idea of what is going on. But i'm going to guess.......
It looks to be a 4 barrle hinge, that is broken and missing a barrle. If it's a 4 barrle, send it to zippo, they repoduce them now. If it's other, and you have a spair hinge to replce it with, i can change it out for ya.

Hey flea,mine had the hinge replaced already with a 3 barrel.do you know if Zippo will put a 4 barrel back in it?Boy if they will mine will be going to it's first swap to get a long needed repair.Jeff

youve told me you posted me some repair stuff out,wicks,wool,bits for hinge repair.you even said they dont call it the snail trail for nothing,hence the black maskers snail joke.
