I was just wondering, do some flints seem to work better then others? Anyone else notice this?

i like the red ones also, they got better packaging, although the zippo flint holder is cool looking, ronson actually holds the flint for lighter accesories, things should just work

Ronson flints are slightly longer/skinner than zippo flints I believe... changes the shape of the flint spring.

I have had better sucess with ronson flints. I switched over to just zippo ones...probably because I have a ton sitting around! They do not seem to last as long and as for fuel the ronson stuff seems just as good. I prefer to collect zippos but does it really matter what you use in you everyday lighter?

I used Ronson fuel and flints for years as they were the most commonly available...worked just as well for me too.

I've had more success with Zippo flints than un-branded ones, but fuel wise I just use the cheap, Ronson made Perma Fluid. I get it for £1 per 100ml. As long as it's flamable who cares what name's on it
