I figured we needed a thread on other brands of lighters other than Zippos. It is called the "lighter-Lounge". Of course zips are my favorite by far, but I have about 330 +/- other lighters in my collection. I use them to trade, sell what ever to acquire my zippos. And I makes sure I keep my special ones, as it adds to the look of my collection. My other favorites are: Thorens automatics, scripto vu-lighters, and of course, a few Ronsons (please don't curse me )

the counterfiets are everywhere, sometimes you don't even know until you examine them closely. The Japanese had many zippo copies throughout the the 50's right on up to today. I have one Japanese copy, in its box which resembles the zippo flame box almost to a tee. So don't sweat it, they are out there.

That's one of the reasons we started this site, it's a site about all lighters. Not just Zippo. (I hope i didn't hurt Zippo's feelings).
I've gotten a Champ lighter, The neat thing about Champ is the Chimney folds back.

i got one of them flat ronsen lighters, its butane though, and a AMG torch/crack lighter, its a piece of crap, i bought it for 2 dollars, i dont like butane, some say butane are better than petrol/gas, i disagree, you can always light your zippo right after fueling, and it lights in cold weather also.
i thought about getting some "off" brand table lighters, i think most zippo table lighters are ugly. i want something tacky looking sitting on my table, not a metal rectangle

Some of the other brands can get a pretty good price on ebay.I just sold a Park coca-cola lighter for way more then I ever figured a park lighter would go.I have also sold a bunch from the 10s to the 40's made in different countries in Europe and many of those also did very well.I guess people do collect a lot of the other brands.I have many table lighters and a ton of old Evans lighters that I still like to use. Most of my friends that know me for the Zippos really freak out when they see me pull out some of "My others" to light up.Jeff aka bigbaddad

I do still use a ronson typhoon once in a while although, I would really hate to lose it.That one is a late 50's early 60's Great Lakes Naval Training Command(boot camp).Got it at a bar from a guy who just wanted one more beer.It was not his to start with and he had never been in the military so I did not feel bad getting him the $2 beer in trade for the lighter.Jeff aka bigbaddad

I own a lot of counterfits zippos too, I don't count them to my collection but if I did it would be 50 more pieces, from star to champ, zippo and even lighters you almost can't tell the difference from, every collector should at least have 1 fake one. I also got an old dupont and a ronson somewhere

I think the coca cola stamped on your parks lighter might have got you the better price jeff there are loads of coke collectors out there.anything i find with coke on at bargain prices i buy and throw in my loft, will be worth something one day.and if i ever see any coke parks lighters I'm definitely buying.

I must admit that I would like to start buying some other Brands. Somestime you can't get something you need on a zippo. There are ships on other brands that are perfectly fine. There is also some canadian one in the same position. Awhile back I traded some off brands for zippos so that was a good deal since I recived them in a"lot". In there was a off brand black crackle...history would be just as good! A lot of times the "lot" offers on EBay can be challenging if you are wanting zippos in there but not the pthers that they use for filler.
