It looks a little plain though, with the colours. It stands out too much. At least with the black and white, it sort of blends with the background.

Colors look a little plain, yet you want it black& white to blend in and disappear ? If you've got flaunt it, the point of advertising is ,be noticed.

Very true, but we want something asethetically pleasing.
Consider this: you're sitting on a park bench and you do a trick. Someone will ask how you did that, you show them your lighter and they see the logo on your Zippo.
Advertising is to be noticed, but it's a lighter. It's small, no one will see the logo unless you show them anyway.

I gotta agree with Jim, I like the colors. Black and White and Gray are just plain, not classy (IMHO)....Besides, it's only yellow, red, and white, it's not like it's a flashy rainbow or something.
And one more thing, are we classy? I thought we were rebels!?!?!

Even if we aren't classy, don't we want something that looks GOOD? I mean come on, maybe it's just me on this one but I honestly don't see just the logo on a black matte or plain colored Zippo very nice. This logo anyway. It IS a good logo, but it's too simple a design to just put on a Zippo and expect it to represent the site (IMHO).

That's my point though, I think the logo does look good! and if possible, I thought we were looking to possibly get it on a 41 replica black crackle, not just a plain or black matte. even though I think it would look good on those too.
What else would you suggest if you think that the logo's too simple?

Or what about this, splitting the logo up onto the lid? Although I'm not sure about it, I liked the idea, but not too turned on by the results.... Me Likes!!!!!! Sign me up for Three of 'em. Spanish Flea

Well at first I thought about having the member's names engraved or put on the Zippo in some way...but then I remembered that Zippo mass produces them by a minimum batch of 50 and that would be out of the question (each member's name).
Also, since I can't seem to think of exactly what to put on it to make it less plain, I propose we have a contest to see who can make a simple design to add on to what we already have. By no means am I complaining, I just would like to see an awesome lighter that I know every member of LL.com would be proud to carry.

how about etching the logo in the same silver tone as the "Sands of Normandy" black crackle? Now that would be classy.

thoses are all good designs but i was looking for more "collectable", i drew up some desings in my sketch book but havent had time to clean them up. i think for a collectible it should be something other than the traditional logo on lighter look.
ill finish up my designs and get them submitted

I thought you could only buy the 41 blk crkl repro in Japan? Wouldn't that be a little expensive for a club lighter? The regular chrome 41 repros you can get at SMKW for less than $13.00. Were you going to buy those and have them powder coated? zippyjim

I have to see what's possible, but we go for black, you can get a black crackle, but not the 41 replica
